ORT09 | Session #4 – Edupunk

Nachdem der  dritte Online Round Table zum Thema “Enterprise 2.0 – Die Potenziale von Social Software für die Lernprozesse in Unternehmen” mit Dr. Willms Buhse und Pat Parslow wieder rund 30 Interessierte anlockte (hier gelangt man zur Aufzeichnung), geht der ORT09 nächsten Montag in seine letzte Runde, bevor die Themen der vergangen drei Monate auf dem EduCamp Mitte April in Ilmenau intensiv weiter diskutiert werden können.

Das Thema des letzten ORT lautet: “Edupunk – Befreit das Bildungssystem!”

Die vortragenden Experten

		Steve Wheeler – Seine Tätigkeiten drehen sich rund um das Thema E-Learning. Er ist nicht nur Dozent für Bildungs- & Informationstechnologie an der Universität Plymouth, sondern auch an der Faculty of Education für das “e-Learning research network” verantwortlich und unter anderem Mitglied des “Institue for Learning”. Vor allem den Forschungsbereichen E-Learning, Web 2.0 und Social Software widmet er sein Interesse (weitere Infos hier und in seinem Blog).
		Dr. Martin Ebner - Im Zuge seines Studiums der Bauingenieurwissenschaften an der Technischen Universität Graz promovierte er zum Thema “e-Learning im konstruktiven Ingenieurbau”. Seit 2006 leitet er die Abteilung “Vernetztes Lernen” des Zentralen Informationsdienstes der TU Graz. Nebenbei forscht und lehrt Martin Ebner rund um die Themen E-Learning, M-Learning, Web 2.0 und führt auch seinen bekannten Weblog hierzu. Eine seiner letzten Veröffentlichungen trägt den passenden Titel “Edupunk – das kreative Chaos als Strategie?”.

Inhaltliche Schwerpunkte und Diskussionsanreize:

• “Edupunk beschreibt einen Ansatz der Lehr- und Lernpraxis, der aus einer Do it yourself (DIY)-Einstellung heraus resultiert.” (Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edupunk)
• Warum und inwieweit sollen Schüler und Studierende in den Entwicklungsprozess von Unterricht und Seminaren eingebunden sein?
• Sind persönliche Lernumgebungen (PLEs) Standard-Werkzeuge für Edupunks?
• An welche Grenzen stoßen aktuelle Bildungssysteme zunehmend und wie können diese überwunden werden?
• Wie kann ein individuelles und eigenverantwortliches Lernen bei Schülern und Studenten stärker gefördert werden?
• Ist die Voraussetzung für ansprechendes E-Teaching und E-Learning eine pädagogische Ausbildung?

• Die Session wird wie bei den bisherigen Sessions mit Elluminate realisiert.

Update 19. April 2009: Aufzeichnung der Session von Steve Wheeler auf dem EduCamp

Die “Online Round Table 2009″ sind ein Gemeinschaftsprojekt des EduCamp- und des EVOLVE-Netzwerks (gefördert durch JISC). Sie verstehen sich als Pre-Events zum dritten deutschen EduCamp vom 17. bis 19. April 2009 in Ilmenau.

ORT09 | Session #4 – Edupunk

After the third Online Round Table on “Enterprise 2.0 – The potentials of social software for the learning processes in an enterprise” with Dr. Willms Buhse and Pat Parslow again attracted around 30 interested participants (here you get the recording), the ORT09 goes next Monday already into its final lap before the topics of the past three months could debated further on the EduCamp mid-April in Ilmenau.

Topic of the last ORT is: “Edupunk – Free the educational system!”

The expert speakers

		Steve Wheeler – His activities revolve around the issue of e-learning. He is not only a lecturer in Education & Information Technology at the University of Plymouth, but also responsible for the “e-learning research network” at the Faculty of Education and a member of the Institute for Learning. Above all the research areas of e-learning, Web 2.0 and Social Software devotes his interest (further information here and in his blog).
		Dr. Martin Ebner - In the course of his studies of Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Graz, he received his doctorate on the topic “e-learning in structural engineering”. Since 2006 he heads the department “Networked Learning” of the Central Information Service of the Technical University of Graz and is among others responsible in the area of e-learning. Martin Ebner researches and teaches around the topics e-learning, m-learning and Web 2.0 and also leads his famous weblog on this. One of his latest publication bears the appropriate title “Edupunk – creative chaos as a strategy?”.

• Why and how far students should be involved in the developing process  of courses?
• Are Personal Learning Environments (PLEs) standard tools for Edupunks?
• Which limitations do current educational systems increasingly reach and how can those be resolved?
• How can an individual and self dependent learning be fostered stronger by students?
• Does E-Teaching and E-Learning need a pedagogical apprenticeship?
